What you can see
For every source, whether it was read, when, and how many passages it produced. For every page that failed, the reason. For every passage, a preview of exactly what the assistant will see. The product images page shows every catalogue photo so a missing or broken one can be replaced in seconds, and the catalogue can be exported as a spreadsheet.
Keeping it current
Each source can be refreshed by hand, hourly, daily or weekly. Price and stock never depend on this schedule: they are read from your store live at the moment of the question. The snapshot is what the assistant searches; the store is what it quotes.
When it does not know
When nothing in your knowledge clears the threshold, the assistant says it does not have that information and offers a person. The question is saved in your review queue with its trace, so a gap in your content becomes a to-do item instead of a wrong answer.
Content that works well
Pages that answer one question each, with the question's own words in the heading, retrieve best. A size chart as a real table beats a size chart as an image. A returns policy that states the number of days in its first sentence beats one that states it in its fifth. None of this is special to AI: it is what makes a page useful to a person skimming it, and the assistant reads the way a skimming person does.
